With her degree drawing to an end, Chantal has become much more engaged with her own personal practice. After completing many modules through University, including teaching in translation, Chantal has continued to explore her own teaching practice in order to develop herself as a emerging practicitoner. 

 

Chantal wanted to expand her knowledge and experience further so she used her opportunity during PIC to gain some work experience in different teaching enviroments, including Primary and Secondary Schools, training academys' and professional performing companies. 

 

With previous Cheerleading and Gymnastics experience, Chantal was offered a great opportunity to complete her Levels 1 and 2 coaching course in June 2013. With this qualification, Chantal was able to gain a successful postition working for West Coast Academy.

 

West Coast Academy opened in September 2014 and is a cheer, gym, dance and fitness academy offering classes to all ages and abilities. Chantal currently teaches cheer and gym classes as well as Ballet and Jazz dance at the Academy and works through West Coast by teaching Stithian Stinger's Cheer Squad at Stithians Primary School.

 

Though wanting to work within the community and expand her range and knowledge of teaching, Chantal has chosen to focus her attention mainly on to working with children of Primary School age. With University coming to an end, Chantal has chosen to progress her teaching further but expanding her range from cheer, gym and basic level dance and has started looking at creative dance workshops and moving to music classes to encourage early age growth and development through the movement of dance. 

 

In the future, Chantal hopes to continue her training and complete her a range of fitness courses including personal trainer, zumba, move to music, aerobics and street fit, so that she will be able to develop further as a practictioner and offer more variety of classes, suitable to everyone.
